San Clemente resident and author, Roberto Diaz, has received much accolade for his story about two young surfers named Moe and Lani.  Diaz’s objective and passion to give back and provide “more” for parents and their children has influenced the tidal direction in which Olas Books latest efforts have shifted. “We want kids to have fun, but most of all to be safe,” says Diaz. “As a surfer and a parent, these are my biggest concerns.  I want my son to surf and to be safe.”

Safety is at the forefront for Olas Books groms Moe and Lani, as they continue to learn the mystic ways of the ocean and the art of surfing.  Their tips and suggestions for awareness and safety in the water are interwoven in an easy to understand writing style that suggests Diaz may be communicating directly as a parent to his own son.
